Prior to founding Wildwood Studio Allegra worked as a producer and curator in the cultural sector for 15 years, culminating as Head of Strategic Projects for the Arts Team in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. She worked as a sponsor for Arts Council England within the department, supporting the delivery of the ‘Let’s Create’ strategy. Allegra developed the business case for the extension of Theatre and Orchestra Tax Reliefs, designing the new uplift in reliefs as a Covid-recovery measure. The temporary uplift measure was made permanent in 2024. Prior to joining the civil service Allegra worked in a range of cultural venues across England including Cambridge Junction, Battersea Arts Centre and as Director of Folkestone Quarterhouse, where she co-founded a series of co-created festivals with local artists, activists and members of the community. These festivals focused on social issues including gender equity and the climate emergency.
As a freelance consultant Allegra has worked on projects ranging from one-day CEO strategy sessions to nine month organisational transformation projects, directly raising over £5 million for cultural organisations and contributing to a further £20 million in funding for cultural capital projects since 2021.
Working with Allegra can bring clarity and focus, particularly around significant times of change. With a strong background in budget management, strategic planning and co-creation, Allegra is able to lead cultural strategy projects at scale.
As a practising artist, Allegra understands how challenging change and growth can feel, and holds honesty and empathy in balance.
