Consultancy

Allegra draws on her extensive experience in the cultural sector, her creative practice and personal values to offer a unique consultancy service.

Prior to founding Wildwood Studio Allegra worked as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Arts Team in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, before becoming Head of Strategic Projects for the Arts Team. She worked as a sponsor for Arts Council England within the department, supporting the delivery of the ‘Let’s Create’ strategy. Allegra developed the business case for the extension of Theatre and Orchestra Tax Reliefs, designing the new uplift in reliefs as a Covid-recovery measure. Prior to joining the civil service Allegra worked in a range of cultural venues across England including Cambridge Junction, Battersea Arts Centre and as Director of Folkestone Quarterhouse, where she co-founded a series of co-created festivals with local artists, activists and members of the community. These festivals focused on social issues including gender equity and the climate emergency.

As a freelance consultant Allegra has worked on projects ranging from one-day CEO strategy sessions to 10 month organisational transformation projects, directly raising £5 million and contributing to a further £20 million in funding for cultural projects since 2021.

Working with Allegra can bring clarity and focus, particularly around significant times of change. With a strong background in budget management, strategic planning and co-creation, Allegra is able to lead cultural strategy projects at scale. As a practising artist, Allegra understands how challenging change and growth can feel, and holds honesty and empathy in balance.

“Allegra's seemingly infinite knowledge and extensive experience working both within industry and in government means that she can offer invaluable insights into every aspect of your company and help you tackle any areas you are struggling with as well offering advice on things you might not even have thought about.

In the few realms where she is not an expert on a particular subject, she will happily offer up suggestions and set up conversations with other incredible people, bringing even more wisdom your way by adding new, crucial voices to the conversations you're having.

Her passion for people, the environment and culture means that she will do everything she can to help you achieve your aims because she can see that through the arts, the world can be a better place, but that that journey to improve starts from within.

She is kind and big hearted but also fearless, honest and unafraid to have difficult conversations, which is exactly the combination you need to start reflecting on where you are and where you want to go.

Work with Allegra if you can - you won't regret it!”
