Quilt Nº3: Pontoon

£650.00

Cotton and linen outer, cotton binding, wool core. Machine quilted. Hand-finished binding.

Single or lap quilt: 114 x 165cms.

Cotton dyed at Wildwood Studio with responsibly sourced Indigo, red onion skins and iron. Improvised piecing based on a ‘housetop’ design. This quilt reminds me of the way I get into open water in the winter at the jetty, taking it one step at a time. Then seeing the grass, water and sky all reflect each other in the stillness.

To personalise this quilt, hand emroidery is available here.

Care Instructions: Once you have done it once, quilts are easy to care for. It is hand wash, but it takes less time than a load of laundry. I treat them the same as I would a pure wool sweater. Wash gently by placing in the bathtub, large sink or shower and rinsing with lukewarm water. If needed, use a gentle wool soap such as Eucalan No Rinse. Be careful not to over-agitate. Leave to soak. Squeeze gently. Line dry. This is best done outside on a dry day, or over a rail in the shower.
