Quilt Nº2: Skein
A large double quilt: 182 x 203cms
Large cotton and linen pieced outer, wool core. Improvised piecing based on ‘flying geese’ blocks in rust, ochre, tan and yellow. Cotton dyed by Sew & Grow CIC. Linen offcuts from Kaely Russel clothing.
To personalise this quilt, hand embroidery is available here.
Care Instructions: Once you have done it once, quilts are easy to care for. It is hand wash, but it takes less time than a load of laundry. I treat them the same as I would a pure wool sweater. Wash gently by placing in the bathtub, large sink or shower and rinsing with lukewarm water. If needed, use a gentle wool soap such as Eucalan No Rinse. Be careful not to over-agitate. Leave to soak. Squeeze gently. Line dry. This is best done outside on a dry day, or over a rail in the shower.
